Its been a while…

So, for all my faithful readers, here is my monthly update!

We arrived in Marietta, GA just over a month ago and began a new adventure. Married life is GREAT so far I am loving it so far. Work is going well, a lot better than the previous office I was at.

In other news, I’m staring a new programming project. I’m not going to release many details right now, but keep your eyes pealed for an extension on the site. I’m excited to finally have an idea for something to develop and bring in a few friends to help with the project.

Other exciting stuff is 3 concerts in 3 months starting on Saturday! Coming up is Derek Webb, Caedmon’s Call and then Derek Webb (w/ full band and his wife, Sandra McCracken) I’m uber excited to go and see some amazing musicians and hang out with my wife!

So, its time for me to crawl back in my hole and hide for another month.

Ok, I just installed the trial version of Adobe Contribute CS3. I can now add and edit posts from my computer as well as edit the layout (when I get Dreamweaver). Since this is the trial, I have 30 days to use it; but I have some software going to be shipped to me soon. That software has Contribute CS3 in it. I can’t wait!!!!

I can’t believe how well this works and I’ll be working with this software and seeing how powerful it is for editing my site.

I would suggest the trial version to anyone and the software itself isn’t that expensive. For those students who read this, academic pricing is quite nice.

New and Improved

Ok, I now have the latest version of Wordpress on my site and all my old posts back! I love this new VPS I am using for my web host. There is a very powerful management system called Plesk that lets me manage anything I would need to (except Tomcat, but I need to learn it command line first). I also have multiple sub domains that I will be using for experimental stuff. I’m hoping to get a Flex app up and running soon (once I get a Flex builder license).

Downtime

I regretfully have to take my server offline for a few hours as I have screwed up my CentOS install somehow. I was testing out the 64-bit distro of Linux and I have found that it lacks in support. So I will be downgrading to the 32-bit version so I can get all my software working the way I want it to. I hope the downtime is only a few hours and no data-loss will occur.

Update: The reinstall went flawlessly and I didn’t lose any data!!!

If you will please notice the right side of the page you will see my last.fm recently played list. I’m currently working with AJAX and the latest in web-technologies to bring you some nice features.

Now if you will look towards the bottom of the sidebar, you will find ways to support this site. Download Firefox, put google ads on your site, or click the add to help support me. I’m a college student so any support is much needed.
