Praise Habit

Well I officially have a degree to my name!  After a long week of checking and waiting for the degree check office to get their act together and fix their system, the transcript processing was completed last night.

In other new, I’m enjoying my new post-collegiate life.  I am enjoying a nice set schedule and the nice weather.  The only uncertainty is the one that will remain with me until the last of my days, what is next.  That is what I’m asking.  What is next up for me?  Am I going to move to a different place and start a new life alone or with someone (probably with someone, Hi Erin!)?

Am I willing to listen to God and follow His directions?  Am I willing to put my pride down and admit I don’t know what is best through myself?

On another note, I’ve learned something while going through Wesley’s account of Christian Perfection.  I’ve learned that no matter what you do, and how holy or pious you are.  Christ is the channel that makes what you do acceptable and pleasing to God.  Knowing this helps me realize that Christ perfects me to God.  How can I keep forgetting this?  The beautiful offense of the gospel perfects me and reminds me that I need Christ.  I can’t be perfect without Christ!  How humbling is that?

Well I am finished with my undergraduate schooling.  All I have left is to walk at graduation and then enter the working world.  The feeling of being finished hasn’t hit me yet.  I feel as if I need to study something or read some textbook.  I do feel relieved though.

Well I’m sitting here with Erin and we are both on our respective computers She got a brand spakin’ new 12″ iBook and I’m a very proud boyfriend. Its wonderful! Well that’s all folks, short update for now.

Does that title even make sense?  Anywho, a couple of weeks ago I was added to the Methodist Blogger blogroll thingamagigger.  I’m excited to know that there is a huge network of Methodist Bloggers who want to talk about issues in the Church openly.  As I learn more about the United Methodist Church and mainly about John Wesley and his ideals and theology, I hope to post more about my thoughts on said subject and even how the Church can change to stay relevant while holding to a Wesleyan tradition.

On another note, grades are pulling up and life is generally getting better.  I’m beginning to see God in a different light.  Erin and I are working on building our relationship closer to being God-centered.  Graduation is creeping up and will be here soon and I hope to have everything lined up properly so the transition from student to societal drone will be smooth (by societal drone I mean waking up at an early hour and working 40+ hours a week).  Well this computer I’m working on is acting up so I need to tend to it.

What is wrong with the world today? Are we becoming so greedy and hurried that we need to speed up sleep? I don’t have long so I’ll rant more on this later.

So I went to Taylor health today and the Dr. said I must have a virus of some sort. I have tonsils that are swollen, blocked sinuses and all that lovely stuff. So you know what this means??? I get to rest a lot! Yay!!! And by yay I mean this is going to suck! I hate having to slow down because my body says so. I want done with this semester so I don’t have to worry about it anymore.

In other news, I’ve been fighting with a bunch of feelings that are not fun. I feel alone sometimes and I don’t like it one bit. Erin has been amazing through all this and I’m truly grateful for having her in my life. Tomorrow is 4 months for her and I as well Things will get better, its just a matter of enduring through this and waiting to see what happens. I’m trying to find God in all of this and I don’t know where I can find Him right now. Its really hard right now because I don’t feel like I have really anyone to share with other than Erin. I just feel really confused right now about everything.

Well my laptop is about to die and I have some other homework to work on now so until next time.
